Maiden Foundation presents the Rising Sons, a leadership development program launched in the Spring 2019, through Cedar Valley College and Dallas County Community College District.  The program is open to young men in their junior and senior year of high school.  Rising Sons has partnered with DeSoto, Cedar Hill and select Dallas ISD schools to create a program what would change the trajectory of 11th and 12th grade males, who currently “fly beneath the radar” in their academic setting.

Rising Sons participants are offered academic support, career exploration, mentorship and most importantly a network of brotherhood.  Plus, they will be invited to exclusive events and social outings.   Also, you can earn free college credit hours at no cost.

THE MODEL

With a theme of “CEO of ME,” the Rising Sons Initiative has three core components: BEING ME, BUILDING ME and BRANDING ME.  The Rising Sons Initiative will support the development of positive and engaged leaders, who successfully matriculate to higher education, and chart career pathways towards self-sufficiency.

The initiative will encourage students to start thinking about college and the necessary steps to become successful young men beyond high school. Our team has connected with the high school guidance counselors to connect the Rising Sons Initiative to the required high school endorsement programs:  Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) | Business and Industry | Public Service | Arts and Humanities | Multidisciplinary Studies
